Data we collect
Devik collects the information you provide (name, email, business details, price library, quotes, voice recordings and job site photos) as well as technical usage data (logs, IP address when your clients view quotes, kept as proof).
How we use it
Your data is used solely to provide the service: AI quote generation, sending to your clients, acceptance tracking. Voice recordings are transcribed and processed by our AI providers for the sole purpose of producing your quote. A job site photo stays internal to your account until you publish it on a quote; the ones you publish are re-encoded before being attached to the document, which removes their metadata — including GPS location and capture time. We never sell your data.
Subprocessors
To provide the service, Devik relies on subprocessors bound by confidentiality: OpenAI (transcription of voice recordings), Anthropic (structuring quotes from the transcript and your notes), Brevo (email delivery), Twilio (text messaging — your client's phone number is shared with them, never the content of their quote beyond a link), Google Cloud (file storage), Stripe (subscription payments — we never hold your card number). The content of your dictations and notes is sent as-is to the AI providers to produce the quote: avoid dictating personal information that is not needed for pricing. These providers do not use your data to train their models. Every text message sent by Devik carries the unsubscribe notice required by CASL: a client who replies STOP receives no further texts, from any contractor using Devik.
Cookies and ad measurement
The Devik website may use the Meta pixel (Facebook, Instagram) to measure how well our ads work: page views, contact request sent, trial sign-up. The pixel only loads with your consent, given in the consent banner; without it, no advertising cookie is set and no data is sent to Meta. No name, email or phone number is attached to these events. Meta Platforms processes this data under its own policy, possibly outside Canada. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page. The pixel is never present in the app.devik.ca application nor on the pages your clients receive.
Hosting and retention
Data is hosted in Canada. One exception, and it matters: the content of your dictations and notes is sent to our AI providers, located outside Canada, for as long as it takes to produce the quote — they do not use it to train their models. Voice recordings, photos and drafts are kept while your account is active. Technical logs (IP addresses of quote views) serve as proof of acceptance and are kept for at most two years after creation, except for accepted documents.
Account deletion
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the app (My account → Delete my account) or the back office. The operation is irreversible. Accepted quotes and their change orders — contractual documents signed by your clients — are kept in anonymized form for 7 years, without your contact details, so that your clients can keep viewing their copy. An active subscription must be cancelled before deletion. What exactly is erased, what is kept and when it happens is set out on the dedicated page.
Account deletionYour rights
Under applicable Canadian laws (including Quebec's Law 25 and PIPEDA), you have rights of access, rectification, portability and withdrawal. Contact: support@devik.ca.
