Delete your Devik account

Last updated: September 1, 2026

How to delete your account

Deletion happens inside Devik, never from this page: it requires your password. Two ways, whichever suits you:

  • Mobile app: My account → “Delete my account”.
  • On the web (app.devik.ca): Company profile if you own the business, My account if you are an employee.

Before you confirm

A screen shows you the count of what will be deleted and what will be kept, then asks for your password. The operation is irreversible: there is no undo after confirmation, and no way to restore a deleted account.

Owner or employee: two different scopes

What disappears depends on your role.

  • Employee: only your access is deleted — your account, your sign-in tokens and your registered devices. The quotes you wrote stay with the business, without your name as their author.
  • Owner: the whole business is deleted. Your team members are signed out immediately and their accounts are deleted along with yours.

What is deleted

For a business deletion, the following is erased:

  • every member's account, sign-in tokens, registered devices and pending invitations;
  • your client records;
  • your price library;
  • your quotes that were never accepted, along with their lines, options, versions and history;
  • change orders that were never sent to a client;
  • your files: job site photos, voice recordings, attachments and company logo;
  • AI generations and the log of text messages sent;
  • the subscription data held by Devik.

When this happens

The request takes effect at once: nobody can sign in to the business from the moment you confirm. Erasing the data and the files is processed in the background, so it is not instantaneous. An email confirms the deletion once it is complete. Deleting an employee account, on the other hand, is carried out at the moment you confirm.

What is kept, and why

Two exceptions, and only two.

  • Accepted quotes and the change orders sent to your clients are kept for 7 years, in anonymized form: these are contractual documents your clients signed, and they retain a right to that evidence. Your contact details are stripped — what remains is the minimal identity printed on the document (business name, licence, address, province) and the record of the client concerned. The viewing link your client received keeps working for that period.
  • Text message opt-outs are never erased. When a client replies STOP, their refusal applies to the platform and not only to you: it must outlive the business that wrote to them, otherwise another contractor could text them again.

If you have an active subscription

An active subscription must be cancelled before deletion: the request is refused while it is running, with a link to the billing portal where you can cancel it. A subscription already cancelled that runs until the end of its paid period does not block deletion. Billing history held by our payment processor (Stripe) is subject to its own retention obligations.
