Two taxes, on two lines
Quebec is the only province that applies the federal GST alongside its own QST. Both are calculated on the pre-tax amount, independently: QST has not been compounded on GST since 2013.
On the document they appear separately, each with its rate. A registered client needs that for their credits; a homeowner mostly looks at the total at the bottom.

Vocabulary matters more than you would think
In Quebec the document is a « soumission », not a « devis ». People say « contrat à forfait », « acompte », « avenant ». A document using the wrong word reads as imported.

Is QST calculated on the GST-inclusive amount?
No, not since 2013. Both taxes apply separately to the pre-tax amount. On $1,000: $50.00 GST and $99.75 QST, total $1,149.75.
Does Devik verify my RBQ licence?
No. Your licence number can appear on your documents if you enter it, the same way your insurance does. Devik does not validate it and tracks no regulatory obligation on your behalf.
Can I send quotes in English?
Yes. Language is an attribute of each quote, not of your account: PDF, client portal, emails and reminders follow the document's language.
